Block photos

The floor plans, it took us many years of talking, thinking and calculating before we finally took the building plunge so I don't think we could have got much closer to our perfect home!

The park across the road, we won't have a massive backyard (6.3m x 20ish m) so this block was perfect with the park across the road. It has paths all the way around so the kids can ride their bikes and enough grass to keep Zorro happy! LOL

Steve standing at the back right corner of the block, check out the hills I will wake up to each day :D We live in the hills now so moving to the "flats" was one of the hardest decisions so at least I still get a view of the hills!

Catch up of what has happened so far...

May 3rd, 2010:
WE HAVE A BLOCK!!! We met the agent at the block we wanted today (Hamish's birthday) and were happy with everything he told us and decided to put an offer in, it turned out he is the owner so it was accepted right away! So now we have lots to do to get going, got to get paperwork back to the bank, contact the builder and get that ball rolling and transfer the deposit. Thankfully, it is all going smoothly so far so it is all quite exciting!

June 10th 2010:
Everything is going along swimmingly at home, still waiting on settlement for the block (Can't even remember if I wrote about putting an offer in...think I did...hope I did...) the bank is piss farting us a bit, have pre-approval but it is all the little nitty-gritty stuff trying to get smoothed out. We are hopefully it will happen in the next week or two though :)

House plans are coming along nicely, we have our folder to decide on colours and finishes (SOOOOO very exciting!!!) and are now waiting for the plans to be officially drawn up and get council approved and then the building starts.

August 11th, 2010:
In house news, things are moving, way too slowly for my liking but it is movement all the same! Plans have been finalised, Pre-start has been done, bank papers have been processed colours have been chosen and now we are just waiting on Council approval and then building will start! I will do another post with the block pictures and updated plans that I have finally managed to get onto the computer :)

Since then:
Council approval has come through so our plans have been moved to the scheduling department. It will be about 2-3 weeks before things atrt moving at the block but we are so close now, it is VERY exciting!

Till next time,
Mel
Hi there...

My name is Mel and I like to blog :P
I started with my original blog then became a Gymboree addict. Now, I am grateful daily and finishing with this here blog, I am also building :)

So, the point of this blog is to keep all of the "house building" type posts in one spot, without them getting lost with my daily photos and my general day to day life.

As a bit of background if you just fond this blog independently of the others, I am an almost 30 year old SAHM to my 3 angels/monsters, Jessie who is 9.5, Hamish who is 6 and Makenzie who is 3. I have been married to my husband Steve for 8, almost 9, years and we live in WA, Australia.
In May this year, we sold our home and decided to start the building process for the first time. A VERY scary prospect, we had bought and sold 3 times but never built before so it is just like starting again!
While we wait for our house to be built, we have moved in with my mum and dad, in their small 3 bed, 2 bath, home so while we are all enjoying the time together we will all be glad to have space when the house is done I think! LOL
Since this blog has been started a few months after the process started, I will steal my posts from my main blog and repost here to get you caught up :)
Till next time,
Mel
